LESLIE RUGBY BALL ON THE BEACH
History
International and grassroots rugby superstar Bob Scott established our leslierugby roots in 1954, Petone, New Zealand. He started a business in Jackson street selling men’s work ware and casual clothing. Bob soon identified the opportunity to provided local rugby clubs and rugby playing schools with their team jerseys, shorts, socks, blazers and ties.
Throughout the 50’s and 60’s business gathered momentum and by the early 1970's Bob needed a partner and he asked friend and future All Blacks captain Andy Leslie to be his man. Bob and Andy’s genuine passion for Kiwi grassroots rugby and Kiwi grassroots rugby people made Scott & Leslie the place of choice for local rugby people to visit and source their team playing kit and aftermatch apparel from.
In 1980 Bob chose to retire to the warmer climate and bowling greens of Whangamata and Andy took sole proprietorship of Scott and Leslie. During the 90’s as well as business as usual for Andy he decided to explore rugby ball design and manufacturing and began sourcing rugby balls from India and he established a relationship with a reputable manufacturer with a proven track record that leslierugby still partners and values today.
