Inhabits lagoons and outer reefs on all kinds of substrates
General Husbandry
Has a temperature range of 75 to 83°F (24 - 28°C). They are about 3 - 4 inches (7.5 - 10 cm) across and consume small invertebrate, algae, and detritus. Occasional feedings of shrimp pellets or fish/shrimp flesh is recommended. Also know as a possible consumer of the small Fiji stars A. anomala. Brown, red to purple body colour, body covered with numerous white to orange roundish skeleton plates which often are very pointy. Arms have three to four orange bands. Only when the sea star has a purplish look, these bands will be dark purple. Feeds on detritus, can be found on different substrate.
