Yellow mesh sea star
Description
Sea star with 5 conical arms, with diameter gradually lowering from the base to a thin tip. Pink arm tips, the central part is covered with orange, yellow and white plates, giving the star a mosaic pattern. 20 cm diameter. Encountered in the back reef and reef front. Identified from Nardoa galatheae by the colour, from Nardoa tuberculata by the missing tubercles. This sea star has a rusty orange base color with lighter yellow-orange bumps and lighter tips to each leg. Coloration and pattern can be highly variable with these starfish and may vary.
